The Wishart Business Precinct is a masterplanned industrial, commercial and business estate situated on 302 hectares of freehold land strategically located as a link between the growing satellite city of Palmerston and Darwin and in close proximity to Darwin’s booming East Arm Port, Oil & Gas Marine Supply Base and Freight Railhead.
The multi-billion dollar INPEX Ichthys Gas Plant at Bladin Point is also only 2.8 km as the crow flies across the harbour from the Wishart Business Precinct.
When fully completed, Wishart Business Precinct will be one of the largest industrial estates in Darwin’s history with approximately 550 allotments. It will be developed in stages over a period of 10 years.
The estate’s 302 hectares are made up of allotments that are within close proximity to or have frontage onto Wishart Road/Kirkland Road, a main arterial highway linking Palmerston with the East Arm Port, Berrimah and the Darwin CBD.
Stage 1 and the following early stages of Wishart Business Precinct are located adjacent to Wishart Road/Kirkland Road and are ideally suited to a broad section of the market including oil & gas services, freight and transport, light industrial, showrooms, sheds, warehouses, small service industries and investors. The 65 lots in Stage 1 of the development are all zoned Light Industrial (LI).
The vast remainder of the estate on the peninsula will be developed in the later stages and will be targeted primarily at larger general industry and port, barge, stevedoring and oil and gas type industries.
The land use planning and building control for the Wishart Business Precinct lies with the NT Government, however because the entire estate is freehold, there are no restrictive leases or covenants in place similar to those at the East Arm Port or the NT Government’s Darwin Business Park.
